I’m not a fan of new year resolutions (like the “new year, new me” issh), but it’s 2014 soon and I’ve got some things to say, and I’ll love for you to hold them dear to your heart.

2013 was a great year, but trust me, 2014 would definitely be better. Hold on to God, never letting go, loving and serving him with a sincere heart. Depend totally on Him, surrendering your all to Him.

*Proverbs 3: 5-6 – Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track (MSG).

*Psalm 134: 14 – I will give thanks unto thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well (ASV).

*2Timothy 1: 7 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (NLT).

*James 1: 19 – Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath (ASV).

Remember what I said, “hold these words dear to your heart”. Have a wonderful 2014.

Until later, ciao :*

The title of this post came up because I had to work on a would-be bride who had very small eyes, more like saucers, yea that’s the word. I used black eye-pencil for her waterline but I didn’t like the result I got because it just made her eyes look tinier. And so I decided to find out how I can make my eyes look bigger. Here are some results I’ve tried out.

*Use white eye-pencil or any other color instead of black for your waterline.

Note the difference between both eyeballs (Ignore the brows biko).

*If you want to use black, do not apply directly on the waterline. Apply it just below the lower lash-line, and do not let it get to the inner corner of your eye.
*Use white or silver eyeshadow for the inner corner of your eye and darken the outer corner.
*Use black eyeliner on upper lash-line and leave the waterline bare.
*Curl your upper lashes.
*Apply a volumnising mascara to both your upper and lower lashes.

These methods work wonders, you should try them out too.

Until later, ciao :*.

Oh my bad, don’t mind my manners, I didn’t ask how you were doing. Hope y’all had a lovely weekend.

Have you had moments when time chooses to be an enemy, say you’re late for an outing and “my makeup’s not even done yet!!!!”

Well, here are easy tips for you to still look good in 5 minutes.

Well-drawn brows are very important when it comes to makeup. Ensure that your brows are properly shaped, drawn and defined. To know how to go about this, click HERE.

Be it a liquid eyeliner, gel eyeliner or eye-pencil, line your upper lash-line and water-line. It doesn’t have to be only black; experiment with other colors. To be on the safe side, use black on your upper lash-line and another color for your water-line.

Apply your mascara, brushing out your lashes. This gives your eyes a defining look and allows it stand out.

DO NOT forget to apply your lipstick. You could go nude or bold. It’ll brighten your smile and add a new look to you face.

Just apply your powder and viola! you’re good to go.

Hi guys. I have my eyebrow tutorial as promised, yaaay finally :D. I’m really excited to share it with you and I hope you find it useful. Enjoy!

Shapen the brow, with your razor or tweezers, to desired shape, or something like this. Ermmm, the brow is this way because I’m trying to groom it, just bear with me.

Outline the brow directly above and below the hairline, ensuring that both lines meet at the end. If it isn’t so neat, don’t bother about it.

Fill in the brows with LIGHT strokes so they don’t appear too dark or thick or unnatural. You could make use of brow powder your shade or a brow pencil. I’ll recommend sleek eyebrow pencil. It’s very soft and powdery in texture and allows for effortless application.

Brush the brow all through with a mascara wand.

Highlight the brow with your concealer, directly above and below the hairline (ensuring that it doesn’t get into the already-filled brow), just as you did when outlining. You have to be very careful with this step as it is the most important, because it defines the brow. To highlight, I’ll recommend milani secret-cover concealer.

Blend the concealer properly into your skin with a multi-purpose brush (which is the usual eyeshadow brush you find in small eyeshadow palettes) or Q-tips (cotton buds).
At the end of everything, you should have something that looks like this:

Don’t mind that the left brow looks funny and different. You can also browse through my gallery to see what an ideal eyebrow should look like.

Until later, ciao :*

REBLOG: From BellaNaija – Muah! Get Lip Ready with Shirley B. Eniang’s “Winter” Lips Treatment DIY & Lipstick Tutorial

I just had to re-post this from BellaNaija considering how much I love Shirley, plus well I had nothing to write about *covers face*.

This lip scrub method Shirley shared can be alternative for the honey and sugar scrub i shared here.

According to Shirley, all you need to get your lips Harmattan/Winter ready are.

  • A mixing bowl
  • Sugar (white or brown)
  • Olive Oil
  • Facial wipes or a hot towel cloth

The Process…

  • Mix a small amount of Sugar and Olive Oil in a bowl.
  • Apply the mixture to your lips and gently massage them on your lips.
  • Clean them off with a hot towel or facial wipe and add your preferred lip balm.

The sugar acts as an exfoliant for your lips helping get rid of chapped skin and the olive oil acts as a moisturizer and helps the sugar glide on easily.

Not only is Shirley giving you a quick and easy DIY lip treatment for the cold weather, she is also rocking some major lipsticks that are great for this time of the year.

Check it all out below and don’t forget to leave comments.

Until later, ciao :*

When it comes to getting inspiration from beauty dons (not ignoring the fact that I have a mind of my own), I’m usually very choosy, especially with the funny things people do these days. And so, I’ll be giving a list of people I get tips from, one after the other as the days go by.

What She Says About Herself:
She’s a 23 year old girl from London with an unhealthy shoe obsession! A bit
of a geek but is also into beauty and style, founder of beauty blog MEEK-N-MILD.

What I Think About Her:
I absolutely looooove and admire this girl, and I’ve been stalking her for God-knows-how-long. She’s beautiful, can be simple yet so classy, a neat-freak, a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-all. I don’t even know how else to describe her sef. When I started my journey into the makeup-dom, she was one of my go-to-sources, and still is anyway. I got basic makeup tutorials from her and they were really helpful.

You can check out her blog MEEK-N-MILD or follow her on twitter @ShirleyBEniang. I’m sure you’ll love her.

Until later, ciao :*
