WORK, WORK, MORE WORK!

You know how I love to boast of the fact that I barely have anything to do, how that I only eat, play, sleep, and watch movies. Mehn, power has changed hands o; I now have so much to do all at once, from makeup jobs to school work *whew*.

Well, I didn’t just come here to bore you with my over-busy schedule. I brought goodies, pictures actually :D. I’ve been working on some final-year students who have been celebrating their traditional day, and I must say that they loved what I worked on them.

So, what do you think? Do they all look fab and gorgeous?

HONEY & OATMEAL. IT WORKS!

Yaaaay it’s Friday finally. If only you know for how long I’ve had shopping and ‘owambe’ on my mind, lol.

Anyway, how have you been? Hope you’ve been putting your time to good use. As for me, I’ve spent the past weeks trying out a home-made facial scrub with my sister and friend. Though they have both been too lazy to keep up with it, I’ll say it’s been working wonders on my face, considering how often I have a break-out.

Recall that I put up a post on the many benefits of honey. Well, here is another way to make use of honey for your face.

What You Need:

*Honey
*Oats
*Electric blender
*Mixing bowl
*Spoon

Why Honey:
Its anti-bacterial properties work great for acne treatment and prevention. It contains anti-oxidants which slow down aging. It also moisturizes and soothes the skin, thus creating a glow.

Why Oats:
It absorbs oils and removes impurities while gently exfoliating your skin without being too harsh. It relieves irritated, red and dry skin and is also overflowing with anti-oxidants, so it helps promote a healthier, glowing complexion.

How To Make It:
STEP 1:
Get a pack of oats (I use Good Morning Oats) and blend dry with your electric blender. Store in a clean, dry air-tight jar.

STEP 2:

*Put a tablespoonful of the blended oats into a clean mixing bowl.

STEP 3:
Add a tablespoonful of pure honey to the blended oats.

STEP 4:
Stir the mixture till it looks like a gooey, yucky substance.

STEP 5:
Wash your face, ensuring that is squeaky clean. Apply the mixture to your face and massage into your skin in soft, circular motions. Leave it on for about 20minutes or more. You could even go about your morning routine while you have it on.

STEP 6:
Rinse off with clean water.

This home-made scrub leaves your face feeling fresh and soft. It should be applied twice or thrice a week if your acne is really bad, and then can be done once a week as it gradually reduces.

Try this out and let me know if it works for you.

Do have yourself a fab weekend. Until later, ciao :*

MY BEAUTY-NSPIRATION (2)

Good morning fam ♥. How has 2014 been so far? Wonderful, I believe. This is my first post this year *yaaay*. Before I go on, I want to thank you guys for your encouragement. Imagine my surprise when I saw over 3000 pageviews on the blog today, all from you. I really appreciate it, means so much to me. Keep viewing, keep sharing, keep commenting.
Well, in the spirit of celebration, and since I’m in such a very happy mood, I’ve decided that the first to leave a comment + email address on this post gets recharge airtime.

Y’all remember I started something on people that inspire me when it comes to fashion/beauty/makeup tips some weeks back (check HERE for the post). Well, here is a continuation of that. Hopefully, it’ll be regular (probably weekly or bi-weekly) from now on.

CHIDIMMA UMEH

What She Says About Herself:
She is a Nigerian, an Igbo girl to be exact, a foodie, lover of all things makeup and a lover of God.

What I Think About Her:
Mehn, Chidimma is one fine Igbo girl and she’s got a smooth face (I’m a sucker for flawless faces, especially babies’). Her makeup is always awe-mazing, and I always look forward to new posts on her blog. Why won’t I, when her makeup video tutorials are usually easy to follow.

One of her ankara-Inspired looks

I even posted something about her being my makeup crush HERE.

She recently got the Nigerian Blog Award for the Best Beauty Blog, and guess what, she deserves it, because I voted for her 😀 ;).
