RECYCLING OLD MAKEUP TOOLS | THE MASCARA WAND

Source
Have you ever gotten tired of using mascara and decided to throw it away just because:
*you felt it had been used for too long,
*it got really clumpy and unusable,
*it got dry??

It hasn’t happened to just you; I’ve been a victim too, until my eyes became open, that is. Rather than throwing away your mascara every time you get tired of it, you can put it to use again.

Start off this way:
1.   Dispose the old mascara tube.
2.   Clean off excess mascara on the wand with an old cloth.
3.   Soak the wand in warm water for about 10 minutes. This will make washing easier.
4.   Wash the wand with a liquid wash, and rinse with warm water.
5.   Leave it to dry.

Here’s how to re-use the old wand:
1.   Use it as a brush to put your brows in place when applying eyebrow pencils or powder.
2.   Use as a replacement for the new mascara wand that you do not like.
3.   Use to coat your eyelashes with castor oil to help it grow (this I just learnt and intend to try out).
4.   Use it to comb through your eyelashes after applying mascara in order to get rid of clumps.

THE DARK LIPPY

Hello guys! Happy weekend to you. I hope you’ve been having a fun time, whether you had an owambe or not.

Now unto today’s discussion, you’ll agree with me that the dark lipstick has slowly crept in and is now a beauty trend. I mean, I don’t go a day without seeing one or two ladies, if not more, rocking a dark lippy.

Personally, I’ve come to like it, as it tends to project me as a very bold and outspoken person, rather than the shy girl that I usually am, lol.

Tips on how to rock the dark lippy:
*Go easy on every other thing. A neutral eyeshadow/lined eyes and a few coats of mascara will do just fine. The lips are enough to draw attention.
*To get a matte look, blot your lips each time you apply the lipstick.
*Be sure to do a teeth check. You don’t want to go out with lipstick on your teeth.
*After application, clean your edges with a concealer to give it a precise line.
*Try out a bun and glasses combo with your lippy. It works all the time.

WOULD YOU RATHER GO DARK THAN SOFT ON YOUR LIPS, OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND? I’LL LOVE TO READ YOUR COMMENTS.

MAKEUP TIPS (01)

Hello guys.

I realized that I didn’t really give makeup tips on the blog last year. And so considering the questions I get via BBM and email, I decided that I’ll put up tips as often as possible, say once a week.

My first tip has to do with this harmattan season. It’s been so hard keeping my lips moist, my lipbalm never stays longer than an hour or two. I have to re-apply and re-apply, and trust me, ain’t nobody got time for that. Lol.

I figured out a better way to go about it. All you need to do is:
*   Apply your lipbalm
*   Re-coat with a lipgloss so it stays longer (I use sleek lip pout)

That’s it! I tried it and it’s been working so far.

If you have any questions you’ll love for me to answer, send them to me via email: senabrushover@gmail.com.
Don’t forget that the giveaway is still open; entry closes at the end of this month. See the rules and what the winner gets in this post.

GOTHIC LOOK + GIVEAWAY

The good thing about makeup is that you can do it at any time; there doesn’t have to be an occasion for you to get dolled up. This was the situation on this day. I had absolutely no reason for wanting to do makeup, except that I was bored and I was celebrating the completion of my final exams, lol. My photog friend happened to be around, and so we decided to have a mini-shoot.

Oh yea, the name I gave this look, just take it like that. A sister’s gotta do what she’s gotta do *wink*
