AFRICAN-INSPIRED SHOOT + GIVEAWAY

The theme of this shoot was chosen to represent an African woman, one who is a hero in her little way, who can speak up for herself and is not easily intimidated by negative situations, and who wants to impact people as much as is within her power.

Olanrewaju Adebona helped bring this idea to life. See pictures and products used below. Continue reading “AFRICAN-INSPIRED SHOOT + GIVEAWAY”

How To Fix A Broken Powder

Hello guys. Happy new month to you. The year is surprisingly running fast, which I like, lol. I really hope you guys are doing okay.

Today’s post has been a real lifesaver ever since I discovered this fix-it tip from other blogs. I’m certain it would be of help to everyone that follows this blog (and every other person you refer here). I mean, I’ve had to deal with messy makeup bags because of some broken compact powders, eyeshadows, bronzers and the likes, which I eventually had to throw out, and we can all agree that it isn’t a good experience at all. With the way the economy is, this isn’t even the best time to spend extra money replacing broken makeup items; I’ll just cry on my way to the store.

INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED:

* Rubbing Alcohol (or spirit, as it’s popularly known).

TURMERIC POWDER FOR THE SKIN

wp-1466528239987.jpeg

I’m constantly on the lookout for anything that can make (and keep) my skin flawless. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I just need my skin to breathe. What, after wearing makeup to work from Monday to Friday, a few Saturdays and Sundays are the only days that my face has to rest. And I, Debby, can’t leave my face bare if my skin doesn’t look good. Mba, it shall not stand!

LIPSTICK HACKS EVERY LADY SHOULD KNOW

Hello guys!
Sooooooo, lol, my plan was to slide in, put up a post and go away like I didn’t just let 5 months go by without a post. I sincerely apologize for that. Truth is, I’ve been too lazy to create time to type anything, I’ve not even visited my own blog in a long time! However, my Instagram page is always active, so ensure you follow me if you are not following already *kisses*.

As you can tell from the title of this post, I’d be giving you tips that can be taken into consideration when applying your lipstick. So, if you’re a lady, get in here (guys, refer your lady friends), and let’s get started.

Hack #1:

Before you start your face makeup, use a lip balm on your lips. This would keep your lips moisturized and soft until you’re ready to apply the lipstick (at this point, you can clean off the balm with a facial/baby wipe).
Hack #2:

Apply a little foundation or concealer on your lips and blend properly. This would help your lipstick color pop.

Hack #3:

To get the perfect cupid’s bow, mark an X around your natural cupid’s bow with a lip liner (and line your lips as usual), and fill up with your lipstick after.

Hack #4:

To achieve matte lips without having to use a matte lipstick, all you need is a translucent powder or a shimmer-free eyeshadow color that is close to your lipstick color. Dab some of it on your lips using your finger after applying your lipstick. This gives it a matte/dry finish, and even helps it last longer.
There you have it. Read, leave a comment and share with your friends. You never know, this could save a life *wink*.

PRODUCTS REVIEW: MILANI & TINT COSMETICS

Happy Easter ladies!!! It’s been a really long long time. How have you been? Hope you had a wonderful time with your folks.

I had a mini-haul last week, got me some lippies (I always feel accomplished when I buy anything makeup, no matter how small, lol), and so today’s review will be on the products I got.

*Ruby Ruby: This is a product of Tint Cosmetics and is a perfect dupe for Mac’s Ruby Woo. It is matte and applies easily.

*Sweet Nectar: This is a product of Milani Cosmetics and is orange in color. I don’t use this often, but it works well on both dark and light skin.

*Sangria: Product of Milani. I absolutely love this; though nude does it for me usually, this particular dark color catches my fancy.

*Naturally Chic: A product of milani, this lipstick is nude in color with pink undertones.

*Malinda: A product of Tint Cosmetics, this lipstick is dry to the touch and also applies easily.

These lipsticks are long-lasting and apply easily with or without lip moisturizing. However, note that moisturizing your lip before application gives a wet finish.

Price:
Tint lipsticks – #3500
Milani lipsticks – #1500

Where to get:
I got these from a friend. If you’re in interested in getting any of them or more, contact me via mail: uforotom@gmail.com.
