Health and Safety in Makeup and Beauty Campaign.

Hello guys. I hope you all have been enjoying the long holiday, I sure have. Eid-Mubarak to all my Muslim readers and clients.

Today’s post is one that has made me really worried over the past few days. Usually, when I hear of fake products, what comes to my mind is that the product is a knock-off of the original. I’ve seen one/two people online who reacted to a product because it was fake. But recently, I got to know of a fellow Nigerian makeup artist and beauty blogger, Yemisi Seriki of Nsure Beauty Studio who fell victim of such fake products, and it’s just saddening to think that people actually manufacture things like that and market it to the public for use. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THAT?!! I could feel her pain as I read her post about her experience.

If you haven’t seen pictures from Bridal Inspiration (01) , what are you waiting for?

Today’s post is a white wedding inspiration look. This is the one I look forward to, dresses and all. But let me just stick with the makeup look.

Usually, most brides want a very calm/simple look for the white wedding.

I understand that this might not be what they intended to rock, but then some churches (and mosques) have requirements. This, however, doesn’t stop you from wearing bolder colors for the wedding if it’s not an issue. I personally would love to have on dark smokey eyes and nude lips for my church wedding.

I’m constantly on the lookout for anything that can make (and keep) my skin flawless. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I just need my skin to breathe. What, after wearing makeup to work from Monday to Friday, a few Saturdays and Sundays are the only days that my face has to rest. And I, Debby, can’t leave my face bare if my skin doesn’t look good. Mba, it shall not stand!

Hello guys. I’m sure you’d have noticed by now that a new post goes up on the blog every Thursday. Yep! I intend to make it as consistent as possible. That said, post release days are now Thursdays.

Recently, I had a shoot (it was an exhausting but fun shoot, trust me) with an amazing photographer, Lanre Ayilegebe of Lanre Ayilegebe Photography. I created four looks, three of which are bridal and would be put up in different posts. The last look would come up in another post.

I remember how much I used to love (still do) nude lippies. I loved it so much that it started to reflect on looks I created for my clients. My friends and some other concerned people had to talk to me to make a conscious effort to diversify. Not that I couldn’t bear to use other lip colors, but I was just always more inclined to use a nude lipstick for any look. I started to explore with other colors for my clients, but it took more time to do the same on myself.

Hello guys!
Sooooooo, lol, my plan was to slide in, put up a post and go away like I didn’t just let 5 months go by without a post. I sincerely apologize for that. Truth is, I’ve been too lazy to create time to type anything, I’ve not even visited my own blog in a long time! However, my Instagram page is always active, so ensure you follow me if you are not following already *kisses*.

As you can tell from the title of this post, I’d be giving you tips that can be taken into consideration when applying your lipstick. So, if you’re a lady, get in here (guys, refer your lady friends), and let’s get started.

Hack #1:

Before you start your face makeup, use a lip balm on your lips. This would keep your lips moisturized and soft until you’re ready to apply the lipstick (at this point, you can clean off the balm with a facial/baby wipe).
Hack #2:

Apply a little foundation or concealer on your lips and blend properly. This would help your lipstick color pop.

Hack #3:

To get the perfect cupid’s bow, mark an X around your natural cupid’s bow with a lip liner (and line your lips as usual), and fill up with your lipstick after.

Hack #4:

To achieve matte lips without having to use a matte lipstick, all you need is a translucent powder or a shimmer-free eyeshadow color that is close to your lipstick color. Dab some of it on your lips using your finger after applying your lipstick. This gives it a matte/dry finish, and even helps it last longer.
There you have it. Read, leave a comment and share with your friends. You never know, this could save a life *wink*.

If you haven’t listened to Adele’s Hello, you should be handed a LASTma jacket. If you have listened to it and you don’t like it, well, you are on your own.

Since almost everyone has a cover of this song, I decided to do my version of it too, with the makeup though. I added the gele as a little twist.
